How-To Steps

1. Preparation: Ensure the wood is clean, dry, and free from grease or old coatings. For optimal results, sand smooth surfaces with 80-120 grit sandpaper in the direction of the grain and remove all dust. Round off any sharp edges.
2. Stir Well: Before and during use, stir the product thoroughly to ensure the metallic pigments are evenly distributed for a consistent finish.
3. Application: Using a good quality brush, apply a thin, even coat, working in the direction of the wood grain. For new, untreated wood, two coats are recommended for the best look and protection.
4. Drying: Allow the stain to dry for at least 12 hours in good conditions (e.g., 23°C, 50% humidity) before applying a second coat if needed. Lower temperatures or higher humidity will extend the drying time.
5. Cleaning: Clean your brushes and tools immediately after use with a turpentine substitute (e.g., Adlerol-Terpentinölersatz).

Recommendations

Always test the colour on a small, hidden area of your project to see the final result on your specific type of wood. For best results, apply in temperatures between 15°C and 25°C. Do not apply in direct, intense sunlight, high humidity, or if rain is expected. For new timber, an all-over coating (including end grains) before installation provides the best protection.
