How-To Steps

1. Substrate Preparation: Ensure the wood surface is dry, clean, and free from dust, grease, and wax. Sand furniture with 180-240 grit and floors with 100-180 grit. Remove all sanding dust.
2. Application: Stir product thoroughly before use. Apply one thin, even coat of Legno Öl using a cotton cloth, a brush, a roller, or a spray gun.
3. Remove Excess: Allow the oil to penetrate for a short period, then carefully wipe off all excess oil in the direction of the grain using a clean, lint-free cotton cloth. It is critical to avoid any film formation on the surface.
4. Intermediate Sanding: After drying for approximately 4 hours, perform a light de-nibbing sand with 280-360 grit. Remove all sanding dust.
5. Final Coat: Apply a second thin coat of Legno Öl, again removing all excess material after a short penetration time.
6. Curing: Allow the surface to cure fully for 7 days before subjecting it to heavy use or cleaning. Ensure good ventilation during application and drying.

Recommendations

For increased mechanical and chemical resistance on commercial projects, add 5% ADLER Legno Hardener (7084). Pot life is 3 hours. Always perform a test application on a sample piece to verify the final color and compatibility, especially on resinous or exotic woods. Use ADLER Legno-Reiniger for cleaning tools and Legno-Pflegeöl for long-term maintenance.
