Usage
Preparation: Thoroughly remove as much of the existing outer layer (e.g., old paint) as possible. Eliminate rust using a water blaster, a steel brush, or a similar method. Wash the surface with Hagman’s Roof/Facade Maintenance Wash. If, during preparation, you expose galvanized surfaces not previously weathered, scour them with Hagman’s Stripping Compound before applying Aquabarr®MIR. Any surface layers containing plasticizers must be completely removed.
Application: For optimal results, apply the paint preferably by spraying in two coats, each at approximately 300 my wet (0.30 l/m²). This method ensures faster and more thorough drying. The drying time is approximately 4 hours at +20 °C and 50 % relative humidity. Under good drying conditions, a single layer of 600 my (0.6 l/m²) can be applied, but avoid direct sunlight. The product can also be applied with a roller or a brush, which will typically require three treatments to achieve the correct film thickness. For the product to reach its optimal properties, the dry film layer should be 220-300 my. The temperature must remain between +7 °C and +30 °C during both application and the entire drying period.
