How-To Steps

1. Surface Preparation (Raw Wood): Sand the surface with 80-120 grit sandpaper in the direction of the grain. Clean thoroughly to remove dust and wood extracts. Round off any sharp edges.
2. Surface Preparation (Previously Painted): Scrape or brush off all loose and degraded old paint. Wash the surface with a suitable cleaner. For mould or algae, treat with an anti-mould disinfectant, rinse, and dry completely.
3. Application Conditions: Ensure the wood moisture content is below 18%. Air, surface, and paint temperature must be above +5°C with relative humidity below 70%.
4. Priming Coat: Stir the paint thoroughly. For the first layer, thin W-GARD Cover 30 with up to 10% water.
5. Top Coat: Apply the second coat undiluted after 2-4 hours. Ensure the total dry film thickness of the system is over 80 μm for long-term durability.

Recommendations

Avoid application on hot or sunlit surfaces to prevent the paint from drying too quickly. Ensure good ventilation during application and drying. Store in a dry, cool, frost-free place in its original, unopened container. Tools can be cleaned with water immediately after use.
