Description
KRASO W-GARD D3 | Professional D3 Water-Resistant Wood Adhesive for Joinery & Parquet
- Certified Performance: Fully compliant with DIN EN 204/205 D3 classification, ensuring reliable resistance to short-term water exposure and high humidity, ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, and protected exterior structures.
- Superior Bond Strength: Formulated for exceptional adhesion to wood and wood fibres, providing high tensile strength for durable, long-lasting structural joints in furniture, windows, doors, and other joinery elements.
- Operational Efficiency: Optimise your workflow with a fast pressing time of just 5-10 minutes and a practical 5-minute open time, facilitating rapid assembly and increased productivity on site and in the workshop.
- Flawless Aesthetic Finish: The adhesive cures to a transparent film, ensuring clean, invisible glue lines that do not compromise the visual quality of high-end woodwork, furniture, and decorative elements.
KRASO W-GARD D3 is a one-component, water-based PVAc dispersion adhesive engineered for professional woodworking where high moisture resistance is required. This high-performance glue provides a powerful, durable bond and is certified to meet the rigorous standards of D3 water resistance according to DIN EN 204/205. Upon curing, it forms a transparent, strong, and paintable joint, making it a versatile solution for a wide range of interior and exterior applications.
Key Applications:
- Manufacturing of exterior doors, windows, and wall elements.
- Assembly of joinery and carpentry constructions in areas of high humidity, such as kitchens and bathrooms.
- Bonding of parquet flooring (10-22 mm boards) and tongue-and-groove joints.
- General furniture making and structural wood bonding.
Technical Features:
- Binder: Modified PVAc dispersion
- Consumption: Approx. 150 g/m² for single-sided application
- Viscosity: Approx. 15,000 mPas (at 25°C)
- Density: 1.0 kg/l
- Solids Content: Approx. 44–46%
- Open Time: 5 minutes (at +20°C)
- Pressing Time: 5–10 minutes (at +20°C for smooth, planed wood)
- Application Pressure: 0.1–1.0 MPa
- Cured Temperature Resistance: -30°C to +80°C
- Colour: Dries transparent
Application Instructions:
- Surface Preparation: Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust or grease. Wood moisture content should be 8–12%. Ambient relative humidity should be 50–60%, and the surface temperature must be above +10°C.
- Application: Shake the container before use. Apply a uniform layer of adhesive to one or both surfaces using a brush, spatula, glue roller, or pressure system. A double-sided application is recommended for dense or resinous woods.
- Assembly & Pressing: Join the surfaces within the 5-minute open time. Apply consistent pressure of 0.1–1.0 MPa using clamps or a press for the required duration (5-10 minutes at +20°C). Note that denser woods or higher internal stresses may require longer pressing times.
- Curing: The joint achieves full strength after the adhesive has completely dried. Clean tools with water immediately after use. Cured adhesive must be removed mechanically.
Certifications:
- Conforms to durability class D3 according to DIN EN 204/205.
Note: For exterior use, the bonded joint must be protected from direct rain and prolonged water exposure by a suitable surface coating. Not intended for continuous water immersion without additional protective coatings.
