Usage

• Surface Preparation: Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and firm. Remove dust, dirt, grease, resin, and other contaminants.
• New Wooden Surfaces: Lightly sand in the direction of the wood grain if necessary to remove raised fibers and ensure even absorption. Clean thoroughly from dust after sanding.
• Previously Treated or Worn Surfaces: Clean with an appropriate cleaning agent or clean water. If the surface is uneven or heavily worn, light sanding to an even structure is recommended. Allow to dry completely after cleaning.
• Application Conditions: Air, surface, and material temperature must be at least +5 °C during application and drying. Ensure good ventilation. Avoid application on very hot surfaces.
• Application: Apply W-GARD WAX in a thin, even layer along the wood grain using a brush, sponge, or roller. If necessary, depending on the wood’s absorbency and surface condition, a second coat can be applied after the first coat has dried.
• After Treatment: After complete drying (approx. 24 h), heat the sauna to operating temperature and ventilate thoroughly before use.
• Surface Care: Regularly keep treated surfaces clean. For daily care, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. If necessary, use mild, neutral cleaning agents for wood surfaces. Dry the surface after wet cleaning. Do not use abrasive sponges, brushes, strong alkaline or acidic cleaning agents, or steam cleaners, as these can damage the wax coating. Ensure surfaces are dry and ventilated after sauna use. Renew the surface with a new coat of wax if needed.
• Transportation and Storage: Store tightly sealed in a dry and cool place. Protect from direct sunlight and frost. Optimal storage temperature: +5 °C to +30 °C. Protect packaging from mechanical damage.
• Environmental and Work Safety, Waste Collection: When working with the product, use appropriate personal protective equipment – protective gloves, safety glasses (or face shield), and work clothes. Wear a dust mask during sanding and ensure good ventilation. Wash tools with water after work. Wipe excess product from tools before washing to reduce discharge into the sewage system. Close the can tightly after painting and store it out of reach of children. Liquid waste must not be discharged into sewage or soil; dispose of it at designated waste collection points.
