Renner YC M401 is a high-performance hardener specifically designed for professional use with Renner waterborne coatings. This product is an indispensable component in two-component systems where maximum surface hardness, abrasion resistance and chemical resistance are required. YC M401 is ideal for curing matt primers and topcoats, ensuring that the treated surface retains its elegant matt appearance without any change in gloss.

Thanks to its balanced formulation, this hardener ensures efficient polymerisation of the coating, forming a durable, long-lasting protective layer. It is ideal for finishing furniture, doors, wood panelling and other interior elements where heavy use and high aesthetic demands are expected.

• Shelf life: 6 months (5°C to 35°C)
• Set time (Pot life): 3 hours after mixing with component A

Directions for use:

1. Preparation: Before use, ensure component A (varnish or primer) is thoroughly mixed. Observe the proportions for the addition of hardener indicated in the technical data sheet for component A.
2. Mixing: Add the required amount of YC M401 hardener to component A, then mix thoroughly with a mechanical mixer until a completely homogeneous mass is obtained.
3. Setting: Use the finished mixture within 3 hours. After this time, the product’s reactivity decreases, and it is not recommended to use it.
4. Conditions: During application, the product, the surface to be treated, and the working environment must be at least 15°C. Lower temperatures may adversely affect the coating’s chemical and mechanical properties.

Important notes:

• Store the hardener in its original tightly sealed container, in rooms with a temperature between 5°C and 35°C.
• Residues and tool wash waters should be treated in accordance with local legislation. Do not dispose of products or residues down drains.
