Usage

Surface Preparation

• Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from oil, grease, salts, and dirt (ISO 12944-4).
• Steel: Blast clean to grade Sa2½ (ISO 8501-1). Phosphating is recommended for cold-rolled steel if blast cleaning is not possible.
• Zinc: Sweep blast clean with mineral abrasives (e.g., quartz sand) to even roughness (SaS, SFS 5873), or roughen by hand abrading/wash with Panssaripesu detergent.
• Aluminium: Sweep-blast clean with non-metallic abrasives to even roughness (SaS, SFS 5873), or roughen by hand abrading/washing with Maalipesu detergent.
• Stainless Steel: Roughen by grinding or sweep blasting using non-metallic abrasives.
• Primed Surfaces: Clean, repair any damage, and observe the primer’s overcoating time (ISO 12944-4).

Application Guidelines

• Recommended Primers: Temacoat GPL-S Primer, Temacoat GPL-S MIO, Temacoat RM 40, Temacoat SPA Primer, Temacoat SPA 50, Temabond ST 200, Temabond ST 300, Fontecoat EP 50.
