Usage

• Surface Preparation: Ensure substrate is degreased, grit-blasted (SA 2.5) or UHP water-jetted (SSPC-WJ2) for optimal adhesion. Small, non-critical areas can use manual St 2 preparation.
• Roughness: Aim for a medium G roughness grade (ISO 8503-4:2012) for new substrates. Old galvanised surfaces usually have adequate roughness.
• Application Timing: Apply ZINGALU as soon as possible after preparation, ideally before flash rust appears.
• Environmental Conditions: Apply in ambient temperatures from -15°C to 50°C, with surface temperature 3°C above dew point (max 60°C) and relative humidity max 95%. Product temperature should be 15-25°C.
• Stirring: Stir thoroughly before and during application (remix every 20 minutes) to maintain homogeneity.
• Application Methods: Suitable for brush, roller, conventional spray-gun, or airless spraying. A brush is recommended for the first coat on new substrates to fill roughness profiles.
• Dilution: Dilute up to 10% for brush/roller, up to 15% for conventional spray, and up to 10% for airless spray, using Zingasolv thinner.
• Cleaning: Clean all equipment with Zingasolv immediately after use. Do NOT use White Spirit.
• Overcoating: Apply a second layer after 1 hour (brush) or 30 min (spray) once touch-dry. It is recommended to apply the second coat on the same day. New layers reliquidise previous layers, forming a single homogeneous system.
• Recommended System: Use as a stand-alone system in a maximum of 2 layers for a total DFT of 80 to 160 µm.
