Usage

Before Painting:

• Ensure the substrate is clean, solid, and dry.
• Sand sharp edges on the wood panels.
• Clean untreated panels and remove loose wood fibers.
• To prepare previously painted surfaces for painting, wash them with appropriate cleaning products, then let them dry thoroughly.
• Wherever there is a fungal or algal infestation, treat the surface using Hagmans Algtvätt.
• Remove loose paint and loose wood fibers by scraping or using a wire brush.
• Apply Utegrund Kombi to the bare wood surfaces.
• Note that substrates treated with linseed oil or glaze must be cleaned down to untreated wood, as old linseed oil may cause blistering if a topcoat is applied.

Painting Application:

• Stir the Utegrund Kombi thoroughly before use.
• Apply the product with a brush and work it in well. Do not dry brush.
• Do not interrupt the application in the middle of a panel; apply the material over the full length of the panel boards to achieve an even finish.
• Distribute the primer carefully and evenly.
• Apply one coat of Utegrund Kombi to new wood before or at installation.
• For bare end-grain wood, apply 3 to 4 coats while each layer is still wet.
• Apply the desired topcoat to the primed panel within one month.
• Apply at least two coats of a suitable topcoat, for example Hagmans Facade Paint Titan.
