ADLER Pullex Holzöl Lärche oil for wood, exterior with UV protection.

Pullex Holzöl Lärche oil is a binder-enriched wood oil for exterior use, based on modified oils. It provides excellent absorption and long-lasting protection thanks to special, highly effective UV absorbers. The product is free of aromatic solvents, making it a wise choice for both professional craftsmen and private users.

• The coating contains a biocidal active ingredient (0.24% 3-iodo-2-propinylbutyl carbamate) that effectively protects wood from blue stain fungi and mold, prolonging its service life.

Areas of application

ADLER Pullex Holzöl is designed for vertical wood surfaces outdoors where dimensional stability is limited or non-existent. It is ideal for:

• Wooden houses and facades.
• For wooden cladding boards.
• Roof overhangs and awnings.
• Window shutters.
• Moulded boards and balcony railings.
• The product is also suitable for stable wooden elements, such as windows or external doors, if a lubricated surface is desired. Please note that this system does not comply with generally accepted industry standards (e.g. ÖNORM B 3803).

Important: For terrace boards and footbridges, we recommend the specialised product ADLER Pullex Bodenöl (4402).

Technical characteristics

• Consumption: 60-80 ml/m² per coat. For sawn timber, consumption may increase by approx. 40%.
• Application method: Brush.
• Drying time: The surface can be repainted after approx. 12 hours (at +23 °C and 50% relative humidity). Lower temperatures or higher humidity may increase the drying time.
• Available shades. Colourless version “Natur” is also available.
• Gloss: Matt.
• Volatile organic compound (VOC) content: Maximum 390 g/l (EU standard: 400 g/l).
• Compliance with standards: Industry guidelines such as ÖNORM B 2230-1 and DIN 18363 are followed in product development and application recommendations.

Application

For best results, please follow these steps carefully:

Preparing the substrate:

• The surface must be dry, clean, stable, and free of substances that could reduce adhesion (resin, wax, silicone).
• Smooth wood surfaces should be sanded in the direction of the grain with sandpaper (80-120 grit). Clean sanding dust thoroughly.
• Resinous wood species such as larch should be cleaned with ADLER Nitro-Verdünner 8017.
• The moisture content of the wood must be: 15 % ± 2 % for softwood, 12 % ± 2 % for hardwood.

Impregnation (if necessary):

• Suppose the wood has a durability class of 3-5 (according to EN 350). In that case, it is recommended to prime the surface once with ADLER Pullex Imprägnier-Grund (4436) for additional protection against blue stain, fungi, and insects. Drying time: approx. 12 hours.

Oil application:

• First coat (primer): Apply one coat of ADLER Pullex Holzöl. Allow to dry for at least 12 hours.
• Apply a second coat of ADLER Pullex Holzöl.

Important safety instructions:
Mix the product thoroughly before use. Do not apply in direct sunlight, rain, or frost. The optimum working temperature is between +15 °C and +25 °C. CAUTION: Cloths soaked in oil may catch fire! After use, they should be dried and then stored in a closed metal container or submerged in water.
