ZINSSER® B-I-N is a fast-drying stain and odor blocker that seals unpainted or porous surfaces, enhancing topcoat coverage.

Recommended Use:

• Interior: Ideal for new and previously painted drywall, cured plaster/cement-based coatings, various wood types (pine, fir, cedar, redwood, plywood), metals (aluminum, steel, stainless steel, copper), vinyl, PVC, fiberglass, and cured masonry (stucco, concrete block, poured concrete, brick).
• Stain & Odour Blocking: Blocks stains and odours from water and fire damage, dark colours, grease, rust, creosote, asphalt, crayon, lipstick, graffiti, markers, knots, sap streaks, and tannin bleed. Effectively seals smoke and animal odors.
• Exterior: Strictly limited to spot priming for persistent bleed from knots and sap streaks before full-surface priming with water or oil-based primer.
• Sealing: Fills and binds wood fibers to create a smooth, sealed surface, reducing the number of topcoats required.
• Glossy Surfaces: Acts as an adhesion primer on smooth surfaces without requiring sanding or deglossing.
• Wall Covering: Can be used to prime existing, soundly adhered, non-porous wall coverings to hide patterns/dark colors prior to painting.

Application Conditions: Apply when air and surface temperature is between -1 and 32°C and relative humidity is less than 70%. Ensure surface temperature is not less than 3°C below the dew point. Substrate moisture content should not exceed 12%.

Application & Thinning:

• Brush: Use a natural or synthetic brush. Do not dilute.
• Roller: Use a nylon or polyester roller (8-12 mm). Do not dilute.
• Airless Spray: Nozzle: 0.011 – 0.013 inch / Pressure: 55 – 80 bars. Do not dilute.
• Air-Atomised Spray: Tip 1.5 mm. Pressure: 3 – 4 bar. Do not dilute.

Cleaning of Equipment/Spills: Clean up spills and drips with denatured alcohol or ammoniated detergent. Wash application tools with Mathys Brush Cleaner or a solution of 1 part ammonia and 3 parts water immediately after use.
