How-To Steps

1. Preparation: Ensure the wood is clean of dirt, dust, and loose paint. The surface must be arid before starting. No primer is needed!
2. Mixing: Stir the can thoroughly before and occasionally during painting to ensure the pigment is evenly distributed. For a more straightforward application, especially on smooth, planned wood, dilute with 10-20% gum turpentine.
3. Application: Apply in warm, dry weather (at least 10°C). Use a brush to apply a thin, even coat, working the tar into the wood.
4. Recoating: Allow 1-2 days for the surface to become touch-dry before applying a second coat for optimal protection and the best color result.

Recommendations

Apply in warm weather (minimum 10°C) for best penetration and easiest application. Ensure good ventilation when painting. As this is a natural product, color may vary slightly between batches; we recommend mixing cans from different batches together before you start to ensure a uniform color across your project. Not suitable for wood previously treated with film-forming paints or other solid colors.
