How-To Steps

1. Surface Preparation: All surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from contamination. Steel surfaces must be blast-cleaned to grade Sa2½ (ISO 8501-1). For concrete, zinc, and aluminum, follow the specific preparation instructions in the full technical data sheet to ensure optimal adhesion.
2. Mixing: Stir the base and hardener components separately before combining. Mix thoroughly in a 4:1 base-to-hardener volume ratio using a power mixer until a homogeneous mixture is achieved.
3. Application: Apply using airless spray or brush. For airless spray, thinning of 0-20% may be required. Maintain ambient and surface temperature above +5°C during application and drying. The steel surface temperature should remain at least 3°C above the dew point.

Recommendations

For applications with high aesthetic requirements and color stability, a polyurethane topcoat is recommended to counter the natural tendency of epoxy coatings to chalk or discolor under UV exposure.
