ZINGA Film Galvanising System – 96% Zinc Cathodic Protection
Description
Unrivalled Cathodic Protection for Steel, Anytime, Anywhere.
- Superior Cathodic Protection: With 96% pure zinc in the dry film, ZINGA actively protects ferrous metals by sacrificing itself to prevent rust and corrosion, and conforms to ISO 3549.
- Versatile Application: Functions as a stand-alone galvanisation system, an active primer in duplex systems, or a recharging layer for existing hot-dip galvanisation or ZINGA coatings.
- Extreme Environmental Resistance: The dry film endures temperatures from -40°C to 120°C (with peaks up to 150°C) and resists a broad pH range (3.5 to 12.5) under atmospheric conditions.
- Flexible & Efficient Application: Apply easily by brushing, rolling, or spraying onto a clean, rough substrate, even under a wide range of atmospheric conditions.
Discover the ultimate in long-term steel protection with the ZINGA Film Galvanising System. More than just a paint, ZINGA is a sophisticated, one-component coating that provides active cathodic protection, mirroring the performance of hot-dip galvanisation but with unparalleled versatility and ease of application.
Engineered with 96% pure zinc (99.995% purity) in its dry film, ZINGA forms an electrochemical bond with the underlying steel, offering true cathodic protection. This means it actively sacrifices itself to prevent rust and corrosion, keeping your assets safe from the harshest elements for decades.
Whether you’re working on new constructions, repairing damaged galvanised surfaces, or seeking a robust primer for a duplex system, ZINGA offers a flexible solution. Its unique re-liquidisation property allows new layers to seamlessly integrate with existing ZINGA coatings, creating a homogeneous protective shield and simplifying maintenance.
From industrial infrastructure to marine environments, ZINGA provides a durable, non-toxic, and UV-resistant finish. It’s designed for efficiency and can be applied by brush, roller, or spray, ensuring optimal coverage and protection under diverse atmospheric conditions. Choose ZINGA for a future where corrosion is no longer a concern.

Usage
- Surface Preparation: Degrease thoroughly (preferably steam-cleaning), blast to SA 2.5 (ISO 8501-1:2007) or SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2, then de-dust. For worn galvanisation, remove zinc corrosion products. Small, non-critical areas can be prepared to St 2.
- Roughness: Apply on metal with medium G roughness (ISO 8503-1:2012). Not required for existing galvanisation or ZINGA layers.
- Environmental Conditions: Ambient temperature -15°C to 50°C; relative humidity max 95% (do not apply to damp/wet surfaces); surface temperature 3°C above dew point, max 60°C.
- Stirring: Mechanically stir thoroughly before application and re-mix every 20 minutes.
- Dilution (with Zingasolv): Brush/roller: up to 5%. Conventional spray: up to 15%. Airless spray: up to 7%.
- Application by Brush/Roller: The first layer should always be applied with a brush to fill cavities in the surface. Use industrial round brushes or short-hair mohair rollers.
- Drying Times (60 μm DFT at 20°C): Dust dry: 15-20 min. Touch dry: 30-45 min. Dry to handle: 90 min. Fully cured: 24 hours.
- Overcoating with ZINGA: Apply new ZINGA layer 1 hour (brush) or 30 minutes (spray) after touch-dry. Ensure the surface is clean if zinc salts have formed. New layers re-liquidise previous ones for a homogeneous bond.
- Overcoating with Compatible Paint: Apply a mist coat (25-40 µm DFT) at least 4 hours after ZINGA is touch-dry, followed by a full coat at least 2 hours after the mist coat is touch-dry. Consider Zingalufer (PU sealer) or Zingaceram HS (EP sealer).
