Description
KRASO KOLOREX Wood Paint | Exterior Wood Paint with Mould Protection | Weather-Resistant Semi-Matt Finish.
Kolorex Wood Paint from KRASO is the definitive solution for protecting and enhancing the appearance of exterior wooden surfaces. This advanced, semi-matt opaque lasyr paint is uniquely formulated to enhance the natural texture of the wood while providing a solid, uniform color. It offers a sophisticated finish that protects against the harshest weather conditions, making it the ideal choice for wooden facades, fences, cladding, and other outdoor structures.
Developed and perfected in Sweden since 1955, KOLOREX Wood Paint is a hybrid formulation combining the best properties of alkyd and acrylate binders. This results in a durable, flexible coating that is both water- and dirt-repellent, ensuring your woodwork remains pristine for years to come. Its formulation is enriched with active anti-mold additives that safeguard the paint film, preventing the growth of mold and algae and maintaining a clean, fresh appearance.
Key Benefits of KOLOREX Wood Paint
- Preserves Wood Texture: The opaque lasyr finish provides excellent coverage while allowing the natural grain and texture of the wood to show through, unlike traditional flat paints.
- Exceptional Durability: Formulated to withstand severe weather, the paint creates a highly weather-resistant barrier that protects wood from moisture, UV radiation, and temperature fluctuations.
- Advanced Mould Protection: The paint film is fortified with biocidal additives that actively inhibit the growth of mould and algae, keeping surfaces clean and reducing the need for maintenance.
- Water-Based Hybrid Formula: The unique alkyd-acrylate combination provides the superior adhesion and durability of oil-based paints with the ease of use, low odor, and simple water cleanup of acrylics.
- Versatile Application: It is ideally suited for new, untreated sawn or planed wood and performs exceptionally well on surfaces previously coated with either oil or acrylic paints.
- Proven Swedish Quality: With a long history of use and testing in the demanding Swedish climate, this paint offers proven, long-term protection when used as part of a system with KOLOREX Priming Oil and KOLOREX Primer Classic.

How-to-Use Guide
For a professional and long-lasting finish, please follow these steps carefully.
Step 1: Surface Preparation
The surface must be clean, firm, and dry, with a wood moisture content below 18%. Remove all loose or flaking old paint, and sand down degraded wood fibres. If the surface shows signs of mould or algae, treat it with an appropriate anti-mold disinfectant, rinse thoroughly with water, and allow it to dry completely.
Step 2: Priming
- For New, Untreated Wood: Apply one coat of KOLOREX Priming Oil, paying special attention to board ends and any cuts or knots. To further enhance durability, follow with a coat of KOLOREX Primer Aqua or KOLOREX Primer Classic.
- For Previously Painted Surfaces: If the surface was previously painted with alkyd or acrylic paint, a high-quality primer, such as KOLOREX Primer Aqua, is recommended. If the previous coating was a linseed oil paint, scrape off as much as possible and prime with a solvent-based product, such as KOLOREX Primer Classic, to minimize the risk of blistering.
Step 3: Application
Ensure the air, surface, and paint temperature is above +5°C and the relative humidity is below 80%. Avoid painting on hot or sunlit surfaces.
- Stir the paint thoroughly before use.
- Apply the paint evenly using a brush, roller, or spray gun.
- For new or previously untreated wood, apply a minimum of two coats of finish. For repainting, one or two coats are sufficient for a uniform and protective finish. Allow adequate drying time between coats as specified.
