SketchPaint Transparent from MagPaint is a premium two-component, water-based coating designed to turn any smooth surface into an easy-care, markerable, and erasable whiteboard.

The unique transparent formula allows you to keep the existing wall colour, patterned wallpaper or any other design, giving it functionality. The product is available in both Gloss and Matt finishes, with the gloss version providing easier cleaning.

Technical Characteristics

• Composition: Two-component (base + hardener), water-based.
• Gloss or Matt.
• Consumption: Approximately 8 m²/L per coat (depending on surface porosity and application method).
• Thickness: Recommended ~50 microns (per coat).
• Drying time (at 20°C and 65% relative humidity):
• Ceases to stick (can be touched): approx. 4 hours.
• Application of second coat (if necessary): within 4 hours after the first coat. If the paint has hardened, the surface should be lightly sanded and cleaned before the next coat.
• Ready to use (for writing): after 5 days.
• Pot life: 1 hour.
• Cleaning of tools: With water, immediately after use.
• Packaging: 0.5L and 1L kits available.

• VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds): The product contains 0 g/L VOC. Conforms to EU Directive 2004/42/EC (Cat. GWB, 2010; limit value 140 g/L).

Instructions for use

1. Surface preparation: The substrate must be clean, dry, smooth, and degreased. Weak absorbent surfaces (wood, MDF, plasterboard, MagnetPaint) can be painted directly. Highly absorbent mineral or wood surfaces should be primed with a suitable primer before applying the coating. Lightly sand existing coatings or plastic surfaces for better adhesion. Remove any paint that has peeled off. A smooth surface is significant for easy cleaning in the future.
2. Mixing: Wear protective gloves. Mix the base component (B) thoroughly. Add the entire contents of the hardener component (A) to the base and stir vigorously for 3 minutes. After mixing, the mass will thicken slightly. If necessary, dilute with water (up to 10%).
3. Apply the paint within 1 hour after mixing using a short-brush roller. Work at temperatures above +10°C and relative humidity below 80%. Apply evenly; one coat is usually sufficient. Paint wet-on-wet. Remove painter’s tape within 1 hour after painting.
4. Allow to dry completely for 5 days before starting to write on the surface. Use good-quality whiteboard markers (SketchMarkers recommended). Clean with a dry cloth or SketchCleaner. If a permanent marker has been accidentally used, try cleaning it with acetone or solvent (test on an inconspicuous area first). Do not use abrasive cleaners.

Storage

Store unopened in the original packaging in a dry, well-ventilated place out of direct sunlight. Storage temperature: +5°C to +35°C. Shelf-life unopened: at least 18 months. IMPORTANT: Do not seal the container after mixing the components!
